Proud to be an American

I'm finally getting to post about our 4th of July! We had a very fun day, enjoying time as a family, going to the downtown parade in the morning and feasting for lunch while we melted in the hot humidity. The whole day I kept thinking, "Is this what our forefathers imagined us doing on this day of independence that they fought so hard for?"

Camden really enjoyed the parade. He was so serious just watching everything go by. He held onto this little flag the whole time.

We ran into some friends who took a fam pic for us!

Why so serious Cam?

Our feast consisted of sausage with squeezed lime, grilled zucchini, corn on the cob, watermelon, classic american potato salad and brazilian limeade! You could say it was a melting pot of a meal! :)

We also ended the meal by starting a new 4th of July tradition of making homemade vanilla ice cream! It turned out way yummy! I even made some homemade butter with the left over heavy cream...I felt like such a pioneer!

Gotta love the 4th of July & mid week holidays with my boys. We are truly blessed to live in the USA, an inspired country!
